Your repost matters: WithUkraine and 3MIN Foundation encourage to share content about Ukraine

Updated: Aug 3, 2023

Independent English-language media about Ukraine, WithUkraine, in partnership with 3MIN Foundation, launched the information campaign "Your repost matters" to encourage Ukrainians to share English-language content about Ukraine on social networks.

According to the "Report on the perception of Ukraine in the world" for 2022, done by BRAND UKRAINE and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the highest number of mentions of Ukraine in social networks was observed in March 2022, and the last peak was in October 2022, which is related with news about massive shelling of Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

Currently, there is less and less news about Ukraine abroad, and even such high-profile tragedies as the blowing up of the Kakhovskaya HPP by the Russians did not cause enough resonance. Hence, the campaign "Your repost matters" was launched so that news from Ukraine would reach more foreigners.

In addition, the information campaign allows Ukrainians to join the fight against Russian propaganda and at the same time strengthen Ukraine's voice abroad.

The main goals of the campaign:

  • encourage Ukrainians to repost English-language content about Ukraine;

  • increase the amount of information about Ukraine in social networks of the English-speaking audience;

  • fight against Russian propaganda.

The campaign consists of posters placed, in particular, in the most popular locations of Kyiv and abroad (Poland, the UK), as well as digital materials and events. In particular, in July 2023, it is planned to launch the Ukrainian Spaces podcast, joint Instagram broadcasts and posts with Ukrainian influencers. In addition, on TikTok, WithUkraine is launching a challenge that invites the audience to share English-language videos in an interactive manner.

"Lack of information leads to lack of interest in the country then how to repost content with clear messages and high-quality design - exactly what can catch the attention of foreigners and stimulate new knowledge about the Ukrainian context" - the director of the ЗMIN Foundation, Khrystyna Boyko

Ukrainian opinion leaders have already supported the information campaign, such as Mariam Nayem, Maksym Eristavi, Marichka Buchelnikova, Yulia Tymoshchenko, Valeriya Voshchevska and others.

WithUkraine and ЗMIN Foundation invite everyone who sees value in strengthening Ukraine's voice abroad to join the partnership.

You can also download, print and share the posters in your town in both Ukrainian and English to encourage your local community to share the information on Ukraine.
